Qatar Charity’s global efforts include supporting community development and vital infrastructure projects, alongside observing international awareness days. The International Day of Charity is observed annually on 5 September, noting the importance of philanthropic activities and the key role played by charitable organizations worldwide. In Ghana, donated land facilitated the establishment of an office and community complex, integrating educational, social, and service facilities, which serves as a hub for various community initiatives. Additionally, a significant water initiative in Senegal, costing over QR4 million, provided essential resources and benefited more than 70,000 people, showing the organization's commitment to addressing fundamental human needs.
Community Development Projects
In 2024, Dr. Hakeem donated land in Accra, Ghana, to Qatar Charity. This generous donation was instrumental in supporting the organization's efforts in the region, specifically enabling the establishment of an office and community complex. This new facility is designed to integrate educational, social, and service facilities, providing a full resource hub for local residents and fostering sustainable development. Separately, Qatar Charity implemented extensive water and sanitation projects in Senegal. These critical initiatives included the construction of 246 wells and 49 water tanks, significantly improving access to clean water. The projects were specifically designed to benefit vulnerable families in Touba, providing improved access to essential water resources and sanitation facilities, thereby enhancing public health and quality of life for tens of thousands. The scale of this water initiative in Senegal, costing over QR4 million, demonstrates a substantial investment in the well-being of more than 70,000 people.
Transformative Health Initiatives
Qatar Charity provided key support for the treatment and rehabilitation of Arkan Jomaa, a four-year-old from Gaza who tragically lost his leg in a bombing. This vital assistance was delivered in cooperation with the Restoring Hope Society in Jordan, ensuring Arkan received the necessary medical care and rehabilitation to improve his quality of life. In Sri Lanka, Qatar Charity implemented a full health initiative encompassing 300 cataract surgeries, restoring sight and improving the daily lives of many individuals. The initiative also facilitated the provision of 555 prescription eyeglasses, addressing a widespread need for vision correction. These health interventions in Sri Lanka specifically targeted low-income families, older people, and children experiencing vision problems, aiming to address critical health needs within these vulnerable groups and enhance their overall well-being.
Disaster Relief Efforts
Following devastating floods in Nepal, Qatar Charity responded with significant humanitarian aid, demonstrating its rapid response capabilities in times of crisis. The organization delivered 30 tons of staple food supplies to affected communities, ensuring immediate nutritional support for those displaced and impacted by the disaster. In addition to food, Qatar Charity also provided essential hygiene items to help prevent the spread of disease, a critical measure in post-disaster environments. Emergency shelter materials were also distributed, offering immediate relief and temporary housing solutions to those displaced by the disaster. This intervention aimed to address the critical needs of flood victims, ensuring access to basic necessities during a challenging period. The effort showed Qatar Charity's commitment to rapid humanitarian response in areas affected by natural calamities, providing a lifeline to communities in distress.

The organization's initiatives span from community development projects in Ghana and Senegal to health interventions in Sri Lanka and disaster relief efforts in Nepal.
