Historical Support and Future Vision

The agreement reflects Qatar Charity's vision to expand its humanitarian and development work by addressing genuine needs, supporting returnees, and strengthening economic empowerment within Bosnia and Herzegovina. This partnership builds on a long history of assistance, as Bosnia and Herzegovina has received Qatar’s sustained support since 1994. The continuous backing shows a commitment to the region's recovery and the welfare of its population. The strategic alignment between Qatar Charity's mission and the Bosnian ministry's objectives is evident in this new agreement, which seeks to build upon past successes and establish a strong framework for future collaboration. This long-standing relationship has fostered trust and effectiveness in delivering aid and development projects.

Ministerial Endorsement

The agreement was officially signed by Mohammed Washan, the director of Qatar Charity’s Bosnia and Herzegovina branch, and Bosnia’s Federal Minister of Displaced Persons and Refugees Nerin Dizdar. Mr. Washan emphasised that partnerships with government entities play a key role in improving the efficiency of project delivery and ensuring assistance reaches those most in need. Minister Dizdar expressed appreciation for Qatar’s continued support since 1994, noting that the MoU reflects a shared commitment to improving the conditions of returnees through projects in infrastructure, education, and economic empowerment. The Minister's endorsement notes the significant impact such international collaborations have on national development efforts and the welfare of displaced populations. The formal signing marks a key step in translating shared vision into concrete actions on the ground.

Voices from the Partnership

The memorandum of understanding specifically aims to implement joint development projects that support returnees and enhance their living conditions in Bosnia and Herzegovina. These projects will focus on various sectors to provide full assistance to individuals and families returning to their homes. The partnership represents a structured approach to address the critical needs of these communities, ensuring that collaborative efforts translate into tangible improvements on the ground. By concentrating on development initiatives, the agreement seeks to establish sustainable solutions that contribute to the long-term well-being and stability of the returnee population, fostering an environment conducive to their reintegration and prosperity within Bosnia and Herzegovina.
